IDEX 2023 and NAVDEX 2023 were held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), between February 20-24. A large number of delegations participated in the exhibition and many companies from Türkiye also took part in the exhibition.

HAVELSAN, with its experience in simulation over 40 years, presents its capabilities with the concept of Digital Troops in robotic and autonomous technologies. Unmanned systems have been indispensable elements of modern combat fields due to the increasing complexity and strategic importance of battle systems with the developing technology. These systems play a decisive role in operations with the integration of autonomous features, advanced weapons and sensor systems, as well as reconnaissance and surveillance missions. Unmanned Ground Vehicles are important force multipliers for military units against different threats, in variable environmental conditions and especially in the field of close combat. In this context, in the event, the capabilities of KAPGAN, an Unmanned Ground Vehicle, BARKAN, an Unmanned Ground Vehicle, and BAHA, which is a Sub-Cloud Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, were displayed to the visitors.

KAPGAN was introduced to the global audience for the first time at IDEX 2023. KAPGAN was exhibited at the fair with a 30x113 millimeter cannon, for which integration studies were carried out in cooperation with Canik and Unirobotics. This weapon system, which has armor-piercing features against ground and air targets, will provide a deterrent to an effective range of 2000 meters. Weapon systems of different types and calibers can also be integrated into KAPGAN.

BAHA and BARKAN, which are used to support search and rescue teams in regions affected by earthquakes in Türkiye, were also exhibited at the event. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, BAHA, carried out reconnaissance and surveillance missions, especially in villages and mountainous regions, and shared the images it took with the coordination center in the region. BAHA generated images with its sub-cloud flying ability when it becomes difficult to take images with other UAVs due to bad weather conditions. With the help of BAHA, search and rescue teams provided the first information about the settlements where transportation is not possible.

HAVELSAN developed SANCAR Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle in cooperation with Yonca-Onuk Shipyard to respond to the needs of modern navies. SANCAR AUSV has a stable communication infrastructure without interruption, based on RF/GSM/SAT systems used all together. This enables it to perform operations on extended ranges effectively. It is the first unmanned system deploying ADVENT ROTA as a mission system.

Within the scope of the events, HAVELSAN displayed its products and solutions in both IDEX and NAVDEX. In the context of prospected cooperations, HAVELSAN signed an MOU with the International Golden Group (IGG) operating in the UAE, which envisages cooperation in various fields such as offering products and solutions in UAE and when necessary, performing maintenance and integration work locally. There was an excessive interest in the ADVENT, SANCAR and Digital Troops during NAVDEX and IDEX, respectively. HAVELSAN is ready to assume responsibilities for future cooperations in the UAE with its capabilities.
